Knights of Columbus Council 4057 at P.O. Box 551, Carlisle, PA 17013-0551 US - Home
Brothers,
I would like to first wish you all a Happy New Year. May God Bless you and your families with a healthy and happy 2012.
The council's 2011 was one of much change, most significantly with the sell of our council hall. However, with the sale, our Parish, and in particular, our Pastor, Fr. Forrey has graciously welcomed us to St. Patrick school and church grounds with open arms. We have just recently received new furnishing for our new meeting facilities, the old "Scout Hut," recently referred to as the new "Knights Hut." This will be our first point of business in the year.
Thursday, January 12 we held our quarterly dinner with our clergy at Marcello's out on Calvary road.
The next thing on our docket and our first official event of the New Year was our March for Life Breakfast, which was held on Sunday, January 15th.
January 23rd marks the 39th annual March for Life in Washington, DC. I am coordinating reservations, so if you would like to reserve seats, now is your chance. The seats are filling up fast so if you have been waiting to reserve your seat, don't wait any longer. Send me an e-mail right away. Seats are $20 per. The bus will leave Marsh drive church at 9:00 am, directly after a special mass at Marsh drive at 8:00 am.
Wrapping up January, our council will deliver our annual St Patrick school and CCD scholarships to Principal Fly and Jo Ellen Frist towards the tail end of the 9:00 am mass on Sunday, January 29th. To show your support for the school, the parish and our council, if you plan to attend mass that weekend, please make a point to attend this mass. I personally would greatly appreciate it.
Looking down the road, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved with events we have planned between now and June. In February we will have our "Fat Tuesday" Pancake dinner on Post. In March we will hold our annual Fish Dinner and RSVP Dinner. In April, we will hold our annual Easter Egg Hunt. In May, we have our annual community yard sale and the Memorial Day parade. And on June 23, 2012, we will hold our Fraternal Banquet (Location TBD). So as you can see, there are so many opportunities to volunteer your time for a great cause. If you have some time during any of the next few months and can assist with one of these events, we would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you all for your continued support of our council and our order.
Sincerely in Christ,
GK Dave Henson
